Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) Housekeeper

This position requires that the candidate possess at minimum a High school Diploma or GED, preferred, but not required. Must be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 90 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment. One (1) year of relevant experience in hotel, motel, health care, or a similar work environment. Work experience with adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses and/or substance abuse arena is preferred. Working Knowledge of: Good hygienic practice, knowledge of the process of sterilizing equipment, the use of chemicals and understanding of basic safety procedures, how to read and understand equipment operation manual(s) and applying common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. This is a highly responsible environmental service support member who is responsible for ensuring that the facility is well kept, organized, and hygienic. The CSU provides individuals with an opportunity stabilize within a supportive milieu. The housekeeper contributes to this goal by ensuring that the staff and individuals reside in a clean and sanitary environment. The job entails cleaning and maintaining the facility to sustain a sterile environment and make sure that it meets any housekeeping sanitation requirements to prevent the spread of infections and increase patient safety and provides a comfortable space for residents or employees. Services are provided in accordance with accepted standards of precaution and infection control practices and policies and procedures of HBH. This is a 100% direct service position that could require the employee to work irregular full-time hours. Bilingual (English/Spanish/Haitian) and experience in a health care setting a plus, but not required.
