Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. (June 24, 2024) – Henderson Behavioral Health recently received a two-year grant totaling $210,000 from The Jim Moran Foundation for their Wilson Gardens Transitional Independent Living Project that houses males between the ages of 18 to 23 who have aged out of the foster care system, are at risk for homelessness, and have been diagnosed with a mental health or behavioral health condition.

“Henderson is a large housing system offering an array of housing options for individuals living with mental health conditions, and we believe that everyone deserves decent, safe, and affordable housing,” said Dr. Steven Ronik, Henderson CEO. “The young men that are served in our Wilson Gardens Project learn to master skills towards self-sufficiency and independent living and are taught financial literacy, employability skills and maintain employment and/or are enrolled in high school post-secondary education or industry-based training.”

“The Jim Moran Foundation has been a long-standing partner with Henderson Behavioral Health, and we are truly grateful for the help they provide our young men and our entire community, and we look forward to continuing this important collaboration,” said Ronik.
